Dr. Aamer Bhutta is currently a Research Associate at the Department of Civil Engineering, Faculty of Applied Sciences at UBC. He has received PhD in Civil Engineering from Nihon University, Tokyo in 1995. He has been an Associate Professor in Faculty of Civil Engineering, and a senior fellow at Construction Research Centre (CRC), Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) from 2009 to 2013. He has received several awards for his research accomplishments at UTM including INATEX (Industrial Technology Exhibition, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia) gold medals (2011 and 2013), INATEX Best Invention Award (2013), and ITEX (International Invention and Technology Exhibition, Kuala Lampur, Malaysia) silver and gold medals (2012 and 2014). He has been an invited consultant for UNDP projects. He has been a member of various technical and scientific committees for international conferences and symposia.
