Puyan A. Zadeh is an adjunct professor at the Project & Construction Management group since fall 2017. He joined UBC as a postdoctoral fellow in late 2013. Before joining UBC, he obtained his B.Sc. in Civil Engineering from Iran University of Science and Technology (IUST), Tehran, Iran (2001) and earned his M.Sc. (2007) and Dr.-Ing. (2012) both in Informatics in Civil Engineering from Technische Universität Darmstadt (TUDa), Darmstadt, Germany. His current research project at UBC is “Information Modeling for Facility Operations” and has the goal to explore the extent to which building information models (BIM) can be extended into the operations, maintenance and continuous optimization of buildings. He is also working on information quality assessment (IQA) of BIMs and Knowledge-based computational design for constructability.
Building Information Modeling (BIM), Information Quality Analysis (IQA) of Building Information Models (BIMs), Augmented and Virtual Reality (AR/VR) in Construction, Virtual Design and Construction (VDC), Knowledge-based Computation for Constructability, Facility Operations and Assets Management in Buildings, High Performance Computing (HPC) and Parallel Computing, and Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Civil Engineering.
