Analysis of 2-D Frames:

HYST has been implemented in a general static or dynamic analysis for frames.

The previous figure shows a simple column (inverted pendulum) connected at its base by means of pins (dowels) through steel plates. The analysis program, FRAME, can be used to obtain the static response of the structure or its time history response when the base is excited by an earthquake. HYST is implemented to calculate, at each time step, the hysteretic response of each pin.

FRAME can be utilized to obtain similar responses for a complete two-dimensional frame structure, with connections either by pins or nailed/bolted gusset plates.
